Jagged Little Lies, by Lorelie Rozzano

Susan’s life was beyond broken, it was over. There was nothing left but a hollowed out empty spot she used to call her family. Dick, her husband, left and her beloved son Declan was in jail. All she’d ever wanted was to have a happy family. What happened? Where did she go wrong? Her days were spent consumed in misery, wondering. Restless in spirit, bitter and resentful, the ache became unbearable. Her only relief came in the form of a tiny little tablet. Miranda met the love of her life. Declan. He was gorgeous, sweet, and charming. His smile lit up the room and stole her heart. He was the best thing to ever happen to her. Trouble was - he was also the worst. Without him she was halved, with him, she might end up in jail. On the verge of bankruptcy and being fired, Miranda wonders if she’ll ever be able to tell the truth again. Declan stared up at the ceiling thinking. He needed more dope and soon. The prison bars he was trapped behind closed with a final clang. The sound reverberated through his jaw and down his back. It echoed down the miles of endless hallways. His bowels quivered and nausea churned. Yup, he was going to need something fast. He counted the hours trying to calculate how long before he’d be writhing on the floor. Six, at the most, but he could already feel it begin. Lyndsey, who never believed in fairy tales, pinched herself. She couldn’t have dreamed this big. Her life in recovery was more than one she’d ever dared to hope for. When you’ve been on the verge of death, and live to tell about it, life could be so very sweet. No longer hopeless or living in despair, Lyndsey makes it her life’s purpose to help others. But will they listen to her?

The Insanity of Addiction
By Dawn Lewis
A carousel of characters are introduced and we get to follow them on an interlocking journey
thru the insanity of addiction. How it can turn around one's life around without even knowing it.
The book starts off in jail, Declan awakes going thru withdrawal. Wondering the all to familiar
feeling of how did he get there? His mother finds out of the situation and knows it must be a mistake.
She is blind to her son's addiction. He is a drug addict, but in her eyes it's her son and of coarse someone has made a terrible mistake!
Someone has done him wrong. After all she adopted him and would give him anything he wanted. She throws around money, co-dependent
to the core. She cannot see how her actions affect others. She believes she is the rescuer, when in reality she needs to rescue herself.
Lying to her own addiction of popping pills.
Delcan has fallen in love. Especially when he finds out she works in a drug store. He lies to get her involved with fixing
him up with pills. Here we are taught how love can ruin someone.
In the middle of all this there is a woman who comes out of rehab. In recovery she councils people and the merry-go-round
spins faster. Each character connecting unknowingly thru the horror of genetics. We observe one who is mended from addiction,
trying to do the next right thing one moment and becomes crazed with control.
My favorite quote in Jagged Little Lies is;
"Like a pilot in the airplane says to put your air mask on before placing it on your child."
This phrase can hopefully be the advice that everyone needs to save themselves.

Lorelie Razzano Did it Again!!!!!!!
By Kayla
Pulled at my heartstrings, slashed them, tied them in a bow. It doesn't get any better! Loved it! Jagged Little Lies was just as moving and captivating as Jagged Little Edge. The way Lorelie writes makes you think you are inside her head feeling every emotion just as she is feeling it. The characters in her books reminded me a lot of someone I know, myself and some of my family members. I love Lorelie Razzano as an author, love all her work, love her style of writing. She has a profound way of speaking to you.

I would like to share how Lorelie Razzano touches people and gives them hope through her books.
My brother has struggled with his addiction for 24 years. I tried to get him to read many books he had no interest. He had tried treatment several times but was unsuccessful. I had not spoken to my brother for years when he called me two months ago asking for help. I was torn as I felt I had done all that I could. I sent him Jagged Little Edge and Jagged Little Lies. When my brother called me last week he was in tears all I could think was he had relapsed. When he could finally catch his breath and was able to speak the words that came out of his mouth, I finished the books, I finally get it, omg I finally get it!" He remains in treatment and for the first time he is talking different, taking ownership, doing the work and looking forward to his future. Lorelie thank you for the hope and being on this journey of recovery with my brother through your books. Keep them coming can't wait for the next book!

I would especially suggest reading her books to anyone just quitting drugs/alcohol or anyone wanting to understand the pain that recovery entails.

hard to put down
By spunky1966
I couldnt wait to get back to the book when I had to put it down. If you or someone you know is suffering from addiction, I suggest this book, as well as the first in the series, Jagged Little Edges. This book covers several peoples story and how they all touch around one addict. This goes to show you how many of us it takes to keep an addict going and how unhealthy we are. You wont regret reading this book!
