About the Author
Jovon Lately born 1976 in Detroit, Michigan was raised by his mother, grandmother, and two aunts. Mr. Lately completed his education in Detroit Michigan, and fought through the adversity of gangs and intercity violence that continued to escalate. He was struggling to find his way in the world and also survive the gang activity all around him. His mother’s boyfriend, who had also given him a brother introduced knowledge of the Holy true Memorial Name of the heavenly father. This Mighty Name was vouchsafe Jovon at the age of six years; which he grew up knowing but from embarrassment of being harassed by his peers who never heard of this name, he kept it quiet and held it deep down inside him. He didn’t know he was already developing another life within. He went to visit Ohio, after seeing and experiencing horrible things he left Ohio to return home. The young man, Jovon, his mother and aunts had encouraged was gone, a new version lived now. He was now two different people, the young boy who held the Father’s Name in his heart secretly, and the man who had not only saw but tasted great evils. Little did Jovon know, but his loving uncle would later be taken by diabetes, the same diabetes that plagued his whole family and was responsible for the deaths of his grandmother and mother. But before the death of his mother and grandmother, his younger brother at the age of 24 was taken away due to a critical life threatening medical condition that required him to live with a shunt in his brain for over 10 years. Jovon, growing up in a family that suffered many tragic financial and medical situations, he began to change even more from that fun loving creative young man he could only dimly remember. His outlook on life began to waver back and forth as he continually readjusted his own perspectives trying to survive and find his place in this world. As he matured he found his passion in helping and protecting people; he decided to get in the field of security. He was trained by specialist in various styles of martial arts which he used in his performance of various functions in security. Looking at the way the world was and observing friends he knew being killed in the streets, even being shot himself on the treacherous streets of Detroit, he and his best friend who grew up together, started to question their existence and the veracity of the BIBLE. Mr. Lately received stupendous knowledge of Yahveh Elohim and the divine pattern of the universe firsthand.

I enjoyed reading about the ideas presented in this book

During these turbulent times, it is important that we allow ourselves to be open-minded to ideas, actively pursue the truth, and allow the holy spirit to provide us with the understanding, guidance and wisdom to withstand evil. I allowed the holy spirit to guide me while I read this book. I enjoyed reading about the ideas presented in this book, particularly about the reality of Satan and how to protect ourselves from the adversary. Without knowledge of the ideas presented in this book, it seems as if we are really leaving ourselves vulnerable for the adversary to slaughter us. After reading this book, I have taken a more active stance in daily prayer and Biblical study for my protection. I cannot wait to read the books he suggested at the end of his book. This is a good book and a must read!

This is by far the most important book a person should read when they have completely given themselves to Yahveh. As you read you can see the divine spirit that is working through Mr. Lately as he writes. This book teaches you the truth behind everything of this world. The writer explains in detail how to overcome all obstacles using the weapons of Yahveh. How the kingdom within you has brought understanding to spritiual concepts that I was not able to articulate to anyone. This book will give you guidance to the true teachings of the basic instructions before leaving earth. I can't wait to read his next book!

About the Author

D. Stanley Eitzen is professor emeritus in sociology from Colorado State University, where previously he was the John N. Stern Distinguished Professor. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. Among his books are: Social Problems (which was awarded the McGuffey Longevity Award for excellence over multiple editions in 2000 by the Text and Academic Authors Association); Diversity in Families and Globalization: The Transformation of Social Worlds (each coauthored with Maxine Baca Zinn); Experiencing Poverty: Voices from the Bottom (with Kelly Eitzen Smith); Inequality: Social Class and Its Consequences (coauthored with Janis E. Johnston); Solutions to Social Problems: Lessons from Other Societies; Solutions to Social Problems from the Top Down; The Role of Government (with George H. Sage); Solutions to Social Problems from the Bottom Up: Social Movements (with Kenneth L. Stewart); Paths to Homelessness: Extreme Poverty and the Urban Housing Crisis (with Doug A. Timmer and Kathyrn Talley); Sociology of North American Sport (with George H. Sage); and Fair and Foul: Rethinking the Myths and Paradoxes of Sport. He has served as the president of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport and as editor of The Social Science Journal.

 

Maxine Baca Zinn is professor of sociology at Michigan State University, where she is also senior researcher in the Julian Samora Research Institute. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. Her books include: Women of Color in U.S. Society (with Bonnie Thornton Dill) and Gender through the Prism of Difference (with Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo and Michael Messner). She is the coauthor (with D. Stanley Eitzen) of Social Problems and Diversity in Families, both of which won McGuffey Awards for longevity from the Text and Academic Authors Association, and Globalization: The Transformation of Social Worlds. She has served as president of the Western Social Science Association. In 2000, she received the American Sociological Association’s Jessie Bernard Award in recognition of her career achievements in the study of women and gender.

 

Kelly Eitzen Smith received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. She is currently working as a researcher and technical consultant at the Drachman Institute, University of Arizona. The Drachman Institute is the research and public service unit of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture dedicated to the environmentally sensitive and resource-conscious development of neighborhoods and communities. Her current projects and research interests involve sustainable communities and transit-oriented development.  She is the coauthor of Social Problems (Twelfth Edition, with D. Stanley Eitzen and Maxine Baca Zinn) and Experiencing Poverty: Voices from the Bottom (Second Edition, with D. Stanley Eitzen).

About the Author
Growing up in Chicago at a time when neighbourhoods were going through transitions in ethnic and racial composition, Richard T. Schaefer found himself increasingly intrigued by what was happening, how people were reacting, and how these changes were affecting neighbourhoods and people s jobs. His interest in social issues caused him to gravitate to sociology courses at Northwestern University, where he eventually received a BA in sociology. Originally as an undergraduate I thought I would go on to law school and become a lawyer. But after taking a few sociology courses, I found myself wanting to learn more about what sociologists studied, and fascinated by the kinds of questions they raised. This fascination led him to obtain his MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago. Dr. Schaefer s continuing interest in race relations led him to write his master s thesis on the membership of the Ku Klux Klan and his doctoral thesis on racial prejudice and race relations in Great Britain.Dr. Schaefer went on to become a professor of sociology and now teaches at DePaul University in Chicago. In 2004 he was named to the Vincent DePaul professorship in recognition of his undergraduate teaching and scholarship. He has taught introductory sociology for over 35 years to students in colleges, adult education programs, nursing programs, and even a maximum-security prison. Dr. Schaefer s love of teaching is apparent in his interaction with his students. I find myself constantly learning from the students who are in my classes and from reading what they write. Their insights into the material we read or current events that we discuss often become part of future course material and sometimes even find their way into my writing. Dr. Schaefer is author of the eleventh edition of "Sociology" (McGraw-Hill, 2008) and of the fourth edition of "Sociology Matters" (McGraw-Hill, 2009). He is also the author of "Racial and Ethnic Groups", now in its eleventh edition, and "Race and Ethnicity in the United States", fifth edition. Together with William Zellner, he co-authored the eighth edition of "Extraordinary Groups", published by Worth in 2007. Dr. Schaefer served as the general editor of the three-volume "Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity, and Society", published by Sage in 2008. His articles and book reviews have appeared in many journals, including "American Journal of Sociology", "Phylon: A Review of Race and Culture", "Contemporary Sociology", "Sociology and Social Research", "Sociological Quarterly", and "Teaching Sociology". He served as president of the Midwest SociologicalSociety in 1994 1995.Dr. Schaefer s advice to students is to look at the material and make connections to your own life and experiences. Sociology will make you a more attentive observer of how people in groups interact and function. It will also make you more aware of people s different needs and interests and perhaps more ready to work for the common good, while still recognizing the individuality of each person.

About the Author
Robert Low is a journalist and writer who covered the wars in Vietnam, Sarajevo, Romania, and Kosovo. "Men Like Us, Following The Prow Beast Up the Fjord in a Ship, Grim w/Revenge, 4 They Didn't Want a Fair Fight, Only Slaughter"

This was a great fourth book in an excellent series! This is definitely one to start at the beginning with The Whale Road and work your way up to book 4. What's left of the Oathsworn are back under the continued leadership of Jarl Orm Rurickson, The Bear Slayer, Trader, and finder of treasure hoards. The hard oath of the brotherhood takes its toll on the life-expectancy of its members, and there's new crew, a new Fjord Elk, and naturally a new fool's errand, all haunted by people and circumstances of the past.

Every book in this series is a fast page-turner that keeps you involved and anxious to discover how events unfold. The Oathsworn new and old are full of colorful Viking-talk that historically accurate or not is certainly entertaining. Low does an excellent job of crafting unique landscapes that covers great distances through the medieval world. I was very impressed with his use of relatively unknown tribes and clans, in this case in the old Amber Road and Oder River region separating Germany and Poland in the 10th Century.

As has been the case in the previous books, Low weaves in a number of big historical characters who mingle almost seamlessly with his fictional ones. Olaf Tryggvasson, Queen Sigrith, and the Jomsviking Lord Pallig Tokeson, among others. If I had one grievance with the story it was probably Low's portrayal of the Jomsvikings in general, which was interesting but I was personally disappointed. His inclusion of Magyars certainly made up for it.

Unfortunately, aside from Finn suggesting there was good raiding to be had in England, there is no hint at a 5th installment and it looks unlikely after a visit to his website revealed this: "It (The Prow Beast) will be followed by the "Kingdom of Scotland" series, set in the time of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace, which I am writing now." Its just as well; not sure Orm and his crew had much more left in them. Given the abominable history portrayed in the film "Braveheart", which seems to have infected universal unconsciousness, just shy of reading the actual history I have faith Mr. Low may set the record a lot straighter. I look forward to it.

Flawed heroes, historical realism, and epic scope

This latest addition in the Oathsworn series is excellent; if possible, it is more grim and gritty than any of its predecessors.

Orm and his Oathsworn face an old foe, fired up with (justifiable) rage and bent on revenge, who burn their home and chase them from their land. The heroes must travel into a relatively unknown corner of Europe in a river voyage that evokes the shades of "Apocalypse Now", culminating in a struggle vaguely reminiscent of the Spartans at Thermopylae.

The Oathsworn hobnob with Viking Age celebrities (Sigrith the Haughty, Pallig of Jomsborg, and Eirik the Victorious, to name a few) but the best part of the book is the central characters. The few of the old favorites who managed to survive four prior Oathsworn adventures - including the grandmother-quoting, parable-laden Red Njal; the alternatingly sweet and ferocious Botolf, and Orm himself, guilt-ridden and tortured by the past. The wonderfully nihilistic Finn returns in all his Odinic, grim fury - and we finally learn the hidden reason for his fearlessness and recklessness. Young (but not as young as in The White Raven) Crowbone, not yet the Olaf Trygvason of saga, makes a return as a gangly youth. Hanging over all their heads is Orm's oath offering a terrible sacrifice if Odin spares his men and their families, an offer on which the one-eyed god is sure to collect.

Robert Low strips away the magic and legend of the sagas to reveal the Viking Age for what it was. In The Prow Beast, the Oathsworn are revealed for all that they are - men mostly inclined to do good, farm the land, be good neighbors and friends, but capable of acts of savagery and cruelty that can be difficult for even the most jaded readers to reconcile. Constantly wavering between their noble and barbaric natures, they are emblematic of age in which they live.

Somebody here said the book was overpriced. I totally disagree. It's less than $100. Where would you find a complete training course on how to make consistent living working a couple of hours a day from your home for that price?
The book in itself teaches you a strategy about trading options that I have seen before, so not really a new "fad" but a proven system that makes a lot of smart people happy today and have in the past. However, what's really different from the other material I have seen around is that this guy takes a "grandfather" approach and explains everything in plain words, slowly, repeating key concepts many times so that you, the inexperienced guy can finally understand it. I have some background in trading and options and this gentleman made it even easier for me to sum-it-all-up and finally get it. I just hope he will hang around for long enough so all of us can make some nice money with his newsletter.

I read the book, i liked the book, the strategy is very well explained.
The only reason i'm not giving 5 star is becouse the book only talks about the monthly interest you can earn, wich is 4-8% or more, but to me that means nothing, the main thing is, what is the annual return?
We know that statistically the strategy is winning 8 out of 10 times, but how much are you gonna loose on that 2 losing trades? A 7% monthly income is a really huge 84% in a year, but how much of that interest are we going to lose in the 2 losing trades?
I like covered call writing, wich is a quite interesting and safe strategy if done in the right way, credit spread are more risky. The question is: is that risk worth the game?

I'm changing my rate from 4 to 5 stars, becouse Mr. Finberg Answered personally to my doubts in a really prompt and well eplained way. So this prompt support is surely worth the last star for this great book on credit spreads and iron condors.

Step by step instructions to a reliable trading strategy

If your looking for a safer, more reliable alternative to generating monthly income in the market, this is the book for you. Finberg gives you his "recipe" for trading and establishes simple to use trading rules for entering and exiting trades. I've had good success so far utilizing this strategy. He also offers a subscription service and will e-mail you a list of spread candidates which conform to his trading rules on a regular basis. It is not necessary to use this service to gain the benefit from this strategy but it will save you the time of spending hours screening the market for conforming spreads. I currently use the subscription service and am quite happy with it.
